New students

Everything you need to know before your first visit.

No experience required, no flexibility required, and nothing about the room left as a surprise. Here’s exactly how your first class works.

Your first visit

Four things, and then you’re on your mat.

Walking into a new studio is the hardest part. Here is the whole thing, start to finish.

  • Ages 15 and up
  • All levels welcome
  • Classes run 60 min
  • Candlelight Glow 75 min
  1. Step 1

    Arrive 10-15 minutes early

Come already dressed for yoga: there are no showers or changing rooms.

  2. Step 2

Check in at the front desk

Then leave your shoes in the cubbies and hang jackets and bags on the hooks in our reception area.

  3. Step 3

Tell your instructor what they should know

An injury, a pregnancy or any medical concern: please tell your instructor before class begins.

  4. Step 4

Be in the yoga room before class starts

Our exterior doors are locked once class begins, and late entry is not permitted. Online booking opens when we launch in Fall 2026; walk-ins are welcome if space is available.

Especially on your first visit

Arriving for Class

Please arrive 10-15 minutes before your scheduled class to check in, put away your belongings, and settle in.

Our exterior doors are locked once class begins to maintain a quiet, uninterrupted practice environment. Late entry is not permitted.

Recommended first class

Rooted

85-90°F

Our fundamentals class: simple, thoughtfully paced sequences that teach alignment, breathing and body awareness in a gently heated room. Every posture is modifiable.

Read About Rooted

Not sure yet? Every class publishes its room temperature, so you can pick by heat as easily as by style.

What to bring

Three things. We have the rest.

Wear comfortable athletic clothing and arrive dressed for class; moisture-wicking fabrics help in a heated room. Then bring these.

Essential

Your yoga mat

Forgot it or don’t have one yet? Yoga mat rentals are available for $1 per class, and mats are for sale at the front desk.

Essential

A reusable water bottle

Top up at the filtered water bottle filling station before and after class.

Recommended for heated classes

A towel

For heated classes, we recommend bringing a towel for your mat. Unlimited Members receive one complimentary full-size bath towel with every class.

If you forget something

Nothing is a dealbreaker

Mats, towels, water and other essentials will be available for sale at the studio.

The studio

Our Boutique Studio

Flow Power Yoga is an intimate boutique yoga studio offering a welcoming, personal practice experience. Our space features a dedicated yoga room, a cozy reception area, and a restroom.

We keep things simple and focused on yoga. There are no showers or changing rooms, so please arrive dressed and ready for class.

  • A dedicated yoga room. Shoes come off before you step in.

  • A cozy reception area with cubbies for shoes and hooks for jackets and bags.

  • One restroom, available before and after class.

  • Filtered water bottle filling station. Bring a reusable bottle.

  • No showers or changing rooms. Please arrive dressed and ready for class.

In the hot room

Taking a break is part of a strong practice.

New to heated yoga? Taking breaks is completely normal. Listening to your body is part of the practice.

Hydrate before, during and after

Start drinking water well before you arrive, keep your bottle on your mat, and keep drinking after you leave.

Child’s Pose is always available

Take it at any point in any class, for as long as you need. No one will ask why.

If you feel lightheaded or dizzy

Pause on your mat first: sit or lie down and let it pass. If you still don’t feel well, quietly step out and return only if you feel comfortable.

Never feel embarrassed to rest

Every body and every practice is different. The person on the next mat is having a different day than you are.

Rest is a posture. Take it whenever you need it.

Our rooms, by temperature

105°F 95-100°F 85-90°F No added heat

Every class description lists its approximate room temperature, so you know what you’re walking into.

Studio etiquette

A quiet room is a shared room.

Nothing complicated, and nobody is keeping score. These habits keep the room feeling the way it should.

Shoes off before you enter

Leave them in the cubbies in our reception area before you step into the yoga room.

Only yoga equipment in the room

Mats, towels, water and props come in. Jackets, bags and other belongings stay in the reception area.

Phones silenced

Leave your phone outside the yoga room, or silence it completely. If you’re on call, tell your instructor first.

Keep the yoga room quiet

Conversation belongs in the lobby, so everyone gets the same few minutes to settle.

No gum

Please leave gum outside the yoga room so you can move and breathe comfortably throughout your practice.

Go easy on fragrance

Strong perfume and cologne become overwhelming in a heated room.

Ask Us Anything

Do you have showers or changing rooms?

No. Flow Power Yoga is an intimate boutique studio without showers or changing facilities. Please arrive dressed and ready for class.

Where do I put my belongings?

We provide cubbies for shoes and hooks for jackets and bags in our reception area.

Can I arrive late?

Our exterior doors are locked once class begins, so late entry is not permitted. Please arrive 10-15 minutes early.

Do I need to bring my own mat?

We recommend bringing your own mat, but rentals are available for $1 per class.

Do you provide towels?

Unlimited Members receive one complimentary full-size bath towel with every class. Towels are also available for purchase.

I’ve never done yoga before. Can I still come?

Absolutely! Many of our members started with no previous yoga experience. Our instructors offer options throughout class so you can move at your own pace.

Is there a minimum age?

Classes are for ages 15 and up.

Do I need to be flexible?

Not at all. Yoga helps build flexibility over time; it’s not a requirement to get started.

Is the studio heated?

Most of our classes are heated, but not all. Each class description lists the approximate room temperature so you know what to expect before you arrive.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable athletic clothing that allows you to move freely. Moisture-wicking fabrics are recommended for heated classes.

Can I bring my phone into the yoga room?

Please leave your phone outside the yoga room or silence it completely. If you’re on call or expecting an emergency, let your instructor know before class begins.

Should I stay for Savasana?

Yes, whenever possible. Savasana is an important part of the practice and gives your body time to absorb the benefits of class. If you need to leave early, please let your instructor know before class begins.

Can I leave the room during class?

Yes. If you need to step out, simply do so quietly. If you’re feeling overheated or lightheaded, pause on your mat first. If you still don’t feel well, quietly step out and return only if you feel comfortable.

Your first class is already waiting for you.
